While I love a traditional Masala Chai anchored by a brisk black tea base, Sunday spring air has me craving a lighter, brighter sip of White Chai (long silvery-white leaves of Bai Mu Dan delicately blend with lemongrass, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger).
As I slipped out of slumber this morning, my taste buds led me to a favorite tea recipe of a White Chai tea smoothie. Fortunately, I had a few White Chai ice cubes in the freezer. Blend the concentrated frozen tea with a banana, rich Greek yogurt, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
White Chai Tea Smoothie
- 5 White Chai ice cubes (white chai tea concentrate can be made by adding an extra teaspoon of tea and adding honey/agave)
- 1 cup greek yogurt
- 1 frozen banana
- top with cinnamon
quick tip: if you find yourself with extra white chai iced cubes and you've had your fill of smoothies, add them to a glass of water to spice up the simple sip.
